Hello,
This Friday November 23rd Gore will open for the start of the 2012/2013 ski season. At this point your season passes will not be ready, but not to fear. We will have tickets for you in the Training Center if you would like to ski this weekend.

Snowmaking has started!
Well folks the season has shifted into second gear as temperatures in the teens last inspired the good people at Gore to begin snowmaking for the season. It looks like this will continue at least for the next couple of nights until we see a warming trend early next week.
It sure was nice to leave my family compound this morning and have great views of the top of the Gondola with clear evidence of the work those snowmakers put in overnight.
Also a reminder, if you plan to attemd the fall camp to Killington time is running out to sign up, so please get in touch with Rich Burnley asap. Thats richburnley@hotmail.com

Gore requiring new photos this winter
Attention all NYSEF families:
I learned yesterday that Gore Mountain is REQUIRING everyone to have NEW photos this year. It doesn't matter if your photo is only 1-year-old, you will still need a new one. If you are up here this fall, stop by and get the photo taken care of before the big rush in November. You can do the paperwork later. Also, remember NYSEF tuition changes (goes up) after Sept. 15th. And remember your NYSSRA and USSA memberships! Hope everyone had a marvelous summer. See you in late fall.

Parent Webinar
From Jon Nolting - USSA Sport Education is offering a free webinar for parents Jan 31st at 7 pm.
The goal of the webinar is to give parents a greater understanding of the long-term development of a ski racer and how they as parents can support their children along a path aimed at success in the long run. It is a multi-sport presentation, so programs with multiple sports can encourage non-alpine participation as well.
The webinar does have limited seating, and pre-registration is required to get access to the live presentation where parents may ask questions. A recorded version of the presentation will be posted shortly after and available to everyone.
Please use this webpage for information and the links to register: http://ussa.org/news/free-parent-webinars-getting-most-your-skier-or-snowboarder
